Info
HAWKS Racing is a team with about 50 students from the UAS Hamburg. After many years of using a four cylinder engine and the previous seasons experiences, it was time to change the whole vehicle concept. It now features a V2 engine, a redesigned chassis and a new suspension. Since we are building the "first 2 cylinder car, our team has ever designed". With our H14 (called “Vicky”) we want to lay the groundwork for a new generation of HAWKS racing cars.

HAWKS Racing proudly presents the H0X. It is the result of 12 years of Formula Student experience and the hard work of 45 students. Its Bosch M4 ABS and a homogenous torque curve provide excellent drivability. The layer-optimized CFRP-full body monocoque containing a supporting aluminum frame structure reduces weight. The heart of the H0X is a Kawasaki ZX6R engine. The 3D simulated aerodynamics package that consists of an undertray, front and rear wings has been further optimized.

Info
After the Formula Student debut of HAWKS Racing in 2004, the H09 represents our latest evolution of racing cars. In result the design of every single component includes our extensive know-how and experience gained within the past years. The ply-book of our CFRP-monocoque is calculated via topological layer optimization resulting in an overall reduced weight. Our aerodynamic package including an undertray, front and rear wings is designed using 3D-simulation. Powered by a Kawasaki ZX6R-engine featuring different maps for each dynamic event and a homogenous torque curve, we achieve increased performance and drivability. For the first time our brake system includes a Bosch M4 ABS controlling each wheel individually. The driver-seat, steering wheel and adjustable pedalbox are designed for optimised ergonomics in order to furthermore support the overall drivability. Our bodywork does not only support the cooling-system but as well an appealing style.

Since 2004 HAWKS Racing has participated successfully in the Formula Student. Hereby the H08 is the latest HAWKS Racing car in our garage. Representing yet another step towards excellence, it is a consequent evolution of previous seasons’ cars. To reduce weight and increase stiffness we designed a new CFRP-monocoque. To improve our performance on track, we developed an extended aero package. Clutch and shifter are actuated via paddles at the steering wheel. The heart of the powertrain is a Kawasaki ZX6R-engine and is modified at our dyno. To handle all that power, we designed special brake calipers, which together with our new paddle assembly give the driver full control of the car. A body fitted CFRP-seat, an adjustable pedal box and intuitive controls are designed to guarantee a maximum level of comfort. In the tradition of building the most beautiful cars in FSAE, we equipped the new car with a breath taking bodywork.

HAWKS Racing Hockenheim 2011Presenting HAWKS Racing, a formula student team from HAW Hamburg founded in 2003. 53 Students from several departments such as automotive, mechanical and electrical engineering and business studies are part of this team. Since 2010 we are a registered association and launched 2011 a modern corporate identity which is supposed to take HAWKS Racing to the next level of professionalism. Dedicated to the passion of engineering, design and business we spent most of our time developing a new car, this years H06.9.It was the next evolutionary step, to make our self-designed monocoque, rims and the exterieur completely out of carbon. Hence we are expecting high weight saving as well as an extraordinary look for our new Hawk!HAWKS Racing always represents high performance and stands for an incredible team spirit (which is the basis for leading our Hawk to great power) based on which we lead our hawk to great power.

The HAWKS Racing Team was founded in 2003 and participated in Formula Student the first time in 2004. We are currently 40 students from different specialisations, working in interdisciplinary groups on the car and its related businesses. In the year 2009, we compete the 5th year in FSAE. After 4 race cars, it took ten month of planning, development and construction to build another fascinating Hawk! Our new H05 is the next evolutionary step: A self designed carbon rim, a multifunctional 3.5" TFT panel for the steering-wheel and the extraordinary styling are some of the highlights. Less weight, half the unsprung mass, new dampers, more engine performance and more overall perfection will enrich the race experience. We look forward to the competition in Hockenheim!

The Hawks Racing Team of the HAW Hamburg was founded in 2003 and participated in Formula Student the first time in 2004 with our first car: The Hawk 69!This car defines the roots of our team and our cars, which our team has developed over the years. In the meantime we have build another two cars, the Hawk06 in 2006 followed by the Hawk07- great success since it brought us the 9th place in Hockenheim and the 4th at the Italy Competition last year. One of our cars very important feature is the unique styling, which convinced the judges at the Hockenheimring competition. It was rewarded by the 1st place at the style contest for its ambitious appearance. Every Hawk is an Evolution of his older brother and now we are about to present our fourth car: The Hawk08. It is designed to take advantage of the success of the Hawk 07 and due to an enormous weight loss in all areas and an improved styling this car will enrich your and our race experience. We look forward to the great competition ahead!
