Team Description

"Aixtreme Racing" is the name of our Formula Student project in University of Applied Science Aachen.
The establishment of this team in March 2007 is the brainchild of a group of enthusiasted students from Department 6, the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.

We wish to establish our position and make a name for ourselves in the arena of Formula Student, Germany. Nonetheless, we hope that we can live up to our high expectations.

Info
The FS19 is the third car of this monocoque row. It's lighter, we have a new engine control unit and there is still no duct tape on the car. The first two cars were grey and white. Following the colors of our university, the FS19 is colored in charming mint royal! Once again, the FS19 has been built by a minimum amount of people - the concept simply proved itself! Not convinced? Come over and have a look at our "hammock tents" - that's certainly something you can only endure in a good team!

Aixtreme Racing represents the UAS Aachen in Formula Student events. Founded in May 2007 and consisting of around 30 members, the team now comprises 40 students from the departments mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science and design. The AIX FS613 is designed with a huge focus on the teams future. We tried to keep the car very simple to create a good base for the following cars of Aixtreme Racing. The decision to do without any kind of aerodynamics in this design step led us to our very ruduced bodywork. Further significant design changes were done in the field of drivers working place. We switched from a three pedal to a two pedal System to give our drivers a more defined feeling and an more comfortable of their legs as well. The new seat, which has a very simple basic configuration, with an additional individual foam pad for every driverwill continue this design direction. We are looking forward to the challenges that are still to come.

Aixtreme Racing represents the UAS Aachen in Formula Student events. Founded in May 2007 and consisting of around 30 members, the team now comprises 40 students from the departments mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science and design. During the past 8 months strenuous day and night shifts have led to the design of our new and almost fully re-designed car – the "AIX FS610". For instance, a much stiffer, yet lighter steel space frame was built. The suspension system features a precise, stiff and play-free kinematic at a significantly lower weight, for example due to the use of carbon fiber rods. However, not only technical improvements have been made. Our newly established knowledge data base has helped us, but more importantly will help future teams keep track of the many influences that affect this complex project. We are looking forward to the challenges that are still to come and we feel confident that our car can take it on with the top racers in the field.

AixTreme Racing is the Formula Student Team of the University of Applied Science. Founded in 2007 we take part at the Formula Student Event in Hockenheim in 2008 for the first time. Now we are nearly 40 Students who design a race car with an great appearance, an economic produktion, an easy operability, and which is lightwight and reliable. Rule compliance is one of our main aims and important for a successful car. The new Car, the AIX FS 609, impresses with its great finish and a powerful engine, which make everyone have the itch to drive it at once. Technical highlights are for example the self designed dry sump system with its aluminium casted oilpan or the modified and optimated cylinder head. Many parts are upgraded like the steel space frame whith 18% more stiffnes according to last years` because of better material and optimized position of the tubes. With our self developed data logger we are able to use the test phase to present a unfailing and fast race car in Hockenheim.
