Team Description

The story of SquadraCorse begins in 2005, thanks to the group of ten students, with the passion for motorsports and for designing race cars.
The first SC is a red colored car, like all the italian historic racing teams cars.
In Leicester, UK, at Formula Studen 2005, SC runs its first race, and in Balocco's racetrack, at Formula SAE Italy, close the season winning the Tiberina Group trophy, a special award for the best chassis.
At the beginning of the 2006 season new members join the team, who designs and produces a totally new car, the SC06, which runs the english and italian SAE events, increasing the team experience.
In 2007 the SC07 takes part in three events: Formula Studen UK, in Silverstone, Fotmula SAE Italy, in Ferrari's Fiorano race track, and Formula Student Germany, in Hockenheim, winning the second place in the italian event.
So the 2008 season starts at Formula Student UK and three weeks later the team is in Hockenheim for the Formula Student Germany event, with a SC08 superbly set up, fighting for the first place. An enginefailure, during the Sunday endurance, breaks up any dream of glory.
SC enters the home event heading for victory, with the number 2 on the SC08. At the end of the three days competition the team surrenders only to the Rennteam of Stuttgart, achieving a new second place and winning again Tiberina Group for the best chassis.
The SC09 must then bear the uncomfortable legacy left by its predecessor and enclose all the hunger fot victory grown in five years. The new car makes its debut on the 5th August, in Hockenheim circuit on the occasion of Formula Student Germany.
Once more the german expedition seems luckless and the hope of the team are shattered by a problem to the voltage regulator during the endurance.
Once again SquadraCorse is called to redeem itself during the home event on Riccardo Paletti trackin Varano de' Melegari, near Parma. After a very close race the team ends in fifth position at few points from the podium.
Even thought without the successes of the previous years, the SC09 has shown its huge potential and its competitiveness leaving a solid heritage to the sixth car labeled SC, the SCX, whose production is going to start at the beginning of 2010, in view of the European events of next summer

Info
When taking shape in 2005, the SquadraCorse was 10 people team of pasionates, during the 6 years of activity, the team transformed into a professionally managed group of 50 persons representing six different countires. Divided, in four divisions: Frame, Engine, Control and Organization & Marketing, SquadraCorse is bringng to You the latest, prototype designed and build in Turin, the SCX^2. SCX^2 presents the tubular space frame lay-out with modified Honda CBR 600 RR engine. One of the major changes is lack of the rear BOX which was a mark of all SC cars. The main goal that we wanted to achieve, was the overall weight reduction(205kg instead 220kg), in order to be again competitive with the best Formula Student Teams. After amazing 2010 season (10th overall in FS UK, 6th overall FSG) when the team was placed on the 5th position among the european teams, the SquadraCorse wants to show again the italian team spirit. See You all at the HockenheimRing!!!

Info
When taking shape in 2005, the project SquadraCorse was gathering no more than ten people and could count on a very small amount of funding and resources. This year, for the development of the SCX, sixth prototype of the team, SquadraCorse may rely on more than fifty students and boast collaborations with sponsors internationally well-known. Moreover a strong renewal in the organizational structure of the team has created all the conditions for a more effective and strong collaboration between the divisions. This season car is a natural child of the passion of the group and for this reason we are sure that it is not going to leave us disappointed under any circumstances. Following the development history of SC cars, we have chosen to keep the tubular steel frame architecture, the Honda CBR 600cc engine and the traditional rear aluminum “box” while implementing some new solutions such as the ELSD and the pneumatic actuation of the clutch

Info
The SC team is going to celebrate its 5th year of competitions in Formula Student and that's why the new car wants to represent a joint between the past and the future. On the one hand the typical tubular space frame which characterizes all SC’s cars, on the other hand a complete carbon fibre body and a larger use of composites material, which allows a weight reduction. This year the attention was focused on the dynamic analysis of the vehicle, for which a good telemetry system software is very important. That's why a new can bus system able to communicate with all electronic units was entirely developed by the team's control division. Wireless real time system acquisition is one of the key-point to increase speeding of reading data. On engine system, actuated intake system allows to increase torque and to power performances.30 Members, 1 goal: SC09 is ready to land among the stars!!

4 Seasons, 4 Cars, 4 Stregths. Stiffness Simulation Setup Suppleness. The SC08 wants to be the highest expression of a steel tube structure, but it is also the joint with the future which will probably be a carbon fibre monocoque. In fact the key element of our '08 chassis is the structural cockpit made from carbon fibre. It gives a massive contribute to stiffness and it includes all the attachments of cockpit accessories. The SC08 has also been upgraded on the engine&drivetrain compartment: we introduced the oil dry sump, the continuous variable intake system and the gear and shifter controls to the steering wheel. The development of the car accomplished by using the most refined software: CAD 3D design, FEM analysis and FEM structural optimization and/or CAD 3D design refinement. Thanks to all these improvements and a refined project we managed to reduce weight, improve stiffness and give the car an impressive handling.
