Welcome to the new age! This year we engineered a car we can be proud of. The team eMotorsports Cologne includes 50 students with a great variety of different fields to pool the best possible knowledge. To build up a car it is not enough to be a bunch of people. What makes us special is friendship. Everybody talks about green energy but we take care about it. This year our goal was to raise the efficiency of our car and save earth’s resources. Therefore we decided to build a recyclable steel frame and no cost wasting monocoque. Furthermore the car is equipped with a single high efficient motor and patented driveshafts. For outstanding driving performance, we built in a self developed ABS System which additionally ensures us safe handling for every driver. Throughout our developement we contribute to the progress of e-mobility. We want to thank every sponsor, supporter, friends and family to let our dream come true!

Info
After participating as a new formed team in the first Formula Student Electric competition ever in 2010 we are back with a strengthened team for our second season. We were joined by former team members of Formula Racing Cologne. To be competitive both decided to merge. The decision to building a formula student car corporately was taken in the first weeks in 2011. Based on the combined knowledge and experiences from past seasons we gained the great ability to compete. Adding additional technical skills in chassis-building to the existing excellence in constructing an electrical drivetrain enabled us to realize the very advanced eMC11. The basis for our development was to include a complete new designed drivetrain setup in a hybrid frame design with monocoque and bolt-on rear frame. Finally a team of student designers was assign to give the car the look it deserves.

Info
After an announcement of the organizers at the “Formula Student Germany 2009”, Formula Student Electric is coming, seven students were enthused and said: “This is it!” From now on Kick-Off meetings were held, other faculties were visited and many more students became impressed/involved. After a short time enough human beings were found to be part of this project, so the Team eMotorsports Cologne was born. In January 2010 we were invited to the “Audi Contest FSE 2010”, which gave us the chance to present and verify our concept in front of a well-staffed jury. After this “confidence booster” we focused at the usage of dynamic advantages that only an electric driven racing car provides. The main concentration is set to energy storage and driving dynamics such as “Torque Vectoring” which are very important parts to be up-to-date or even a leader of its genre. We wish our combustion team Formula Racing Cologne a great season.
