Team Description

GET racing is the student racing team of the Technische Universität Dortmund. In May 2005 the Formula Student presented itself at the Hannover Fair and became the initial spark for the foundation of our team in the same month.

Today the team consists of more than 65 students, most of them studying engineering and natural sciences, but also students with a focus on economics or humanities.

Together we build a new racing car every year, with which we compete against other teams in a Europe-wide design competition, also known as Formula Student.

Since 2020 we have been designing purely electric cars to follow the development trends in the automotive industry and the specifications of Formula Student. Furthermore, we are already preparing intensively for an autonomously driving racing car, which should be ready to drive in 2023.

Info

The FS225 is GET racing's latest and most advanced race car. It is approximately 12% lighter than its predecessor, the FS224, and features a uniquely camera-only autonomous system — a rarity in Formula Student. A redesigned aerodynamic package, optimized through high-fidelity CFD, significantly enhances performance. The new accumulator is 9 kg lighter while offering increased capacity and voltage, marking a leap forward in efficiency and power.
Engineering Design Priorities:
weight reliability driveability robustness corner speed driverless performance

Info
Founded in 2005, GET racing originated from a university in the heart of Germany‘s famous Ruhrgebiet, the Technical University Dortmund. After two successful participations in electrical vehicle competitions, the FS224 is now the third vehicle with an electric drive train and the second iteration to host an autonomous system. Compared to the previous vehicles, weight was reduced by 13 % while improving downforce by a factor of 2.5

Info
We are the team GET racing, located at the TU Dortmund in Germany. This season our first electrical vehicle will compete in the formula student. The change from a combustion to an electric car has presented us with unexpected issues, so this car took us two seasons to complete. But rather than giving up, we met the conceptual changes with an agile development, perseverance and a team willing to help outside of their department whenever needed. Thus, we are happy to present the FS221 this season.
