Info
The Team BRS Motorsport was founded in 2007 and we have been participating with our cars since 2009. Our Team consists of 40 students from all faculties from the University of Applied Science Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. We are proud to be part of the Formula Student Germany event in Hockenheim for the third time. For our Car The [dzi:] 12, we developed some very nice parts. In order to reduce the unsprung mass we developed carbon fiber a-arms, wheel hubs made from titanium, and forged aluminum rims made form Otto Fuchs KG with a weight of only 2.4 kg. We optimized our frame to be stiffer, lighter, safer and to integrate all mountings into the structure to get a better force flow and to make the fabrication process easier. We also advanced our engine and drive train package. We modified our air intake system, the cylinder head, all bearings inside the engine and the drive train to get the maximum power to the wheels and to the ground.

Info
The goals for our second Formula Student car, the [dʒiː] 10 (pronounced “G TEN”) was to develop a comparably simple and economical sports car. The weaknesses of the car from last year were given special attention. The following objectives were particularly aimed for:- Reduction of the weight by 50 kgs to 250 kgs, in particular a reduction of the unsprung mass - Increase of the agility and decrease the understeering tendency.- Increase in the engine performance about 10% to 85HP.Our concept is looking at a rather classical construction with an open tubular steel frame, a double wishbone suspension and a four cylinder combustion engine. The technical highlight is, amongst other things, our own developed DARS-System (Dual – Active – Rear – Steering), with which the driving dynamic is actively influenced.

Info
In 2007, a small group of students at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in St. Augustin, had the idea of entering a self-designed and self-built racing car in the Formula Student Germany competition. Soon after BRS Motorsport e.V., the official team, was founded. In the beginning BRS Motorsport e.V. had a variety of challenges to take on in order to get the project established and recognised by our University as well as finding motivated and trustworthy partners from local industry and amongst our professors. The highly-motivated group never gave up and soon the team grew to its current number of 20 students. An important goal of the team, as well as participating in the Formula Student championship, was, and still is, that no student should neglect his or her academic studies. Finally, BRS Motorsport e.V. has succeeded in getting to the Hockenheim Ring and the whole team is delighted to present to you the first Formula Student racing car from St. Augustin.
