Team Description

The Formula Student Team Weingarten is the racing team of UAS Weingarten, established in 2008.
The FSTW rely on more than 80 students and a considerable number of sponsors. Together with our university and sponsors it was possible to build our “Stinger21C” and to take part at FSAE events all over europe.
To improve the results from the recent years, the Formula Student Team Weingarten focused on weight reduction while maintaining security and reliability of the car to gain as much points as possible on a FSAE Event. This was achieved by a high level of team structure, weekly workshops and a comprehensive knowledge database.
Thereby we were able to keep our timetable tight and have more time for testing and instructing our drivers.
With great enthusiasm the Formula Student Team Weingarten is looking forward to the Event in Hockenheim to compete with other teams and have a fantastic time beside the racetrack.
In 2018 our team make a big step into the automotive future and launched the “Formula Student Team Weingarten Driverless”.

Info
The Formula Student Team Weingarten was founded in 2008. Today the team counts 70 team members who are divided into six subteams. The teams’ car concept is based on a 4 cylinder PC40 engine and a steel space frame. Main targets for the “Stinger17” were further weight reduction as well as a modified 4 cylinder engine. The FSG event each year forms a highlight for the FSTW. After a great season, the team now is striking for a TopTen result in Hockenheim ‘17.

Info
About 55 students of the UAS Weingarten built the Stinger16 this season. Additional to the main goal, to achieve as many points as possible on a FSAE event, the Formula Student Team Weingarten focused on weight reduction while maintaining security and reliability of the car. To improve the dynamic performance of this year's car and drivers, a symmetric aerodynamic package and a new intake system were developed, supplemented by an adjustable pedalbox and steering system.

Info
The Formula Student Team Weingarten consists of about 45 students, who spent one year to build their own Formula Student car. The main aim of the 2013 car, the Stinger 13 was to understand how a formula car works, especially to simulate and validate as much as possible. All in all the goal was to reduce our weight, but still prevent the stability of the car. To improve our performance on the track an aerodynamic package was developed and the driving dynamics were improved radically. As every year the car is power by a Honda CBR 600 RR 4-cylinder engine. It is the first year that not only automotive and mechanical engineering students take part, but also students from the management faculty of our university.

The Formula Student Team Weingarten, racing team of the UAS Ravensburg-Weingarten was founded in 2008. This year we built our 4th race car, the "Stinger 12". We are participating at FSG for the 3rd time. Our Team consists of more than 40 motivated students, more than ever before. The experience and knowledge of the last years came along with a lot of commitment of each team member for the new vehicle. Our target was to build a race car which is easy to handle, reliable, powerful and able to have a great performance. The concept remained almost the same, a high-performance 4-cylinder engine with a steel space frame, standing on 13" wheels. But a lot of systems have been developed during the whole year and integrated in the Stinger 12, for example a new throttle body, a traction control system and a telemetry system. Thanks to all our sponsors for their support and we are looking forward to a great season and successful competition in Hockenheim.

The Formula Student Team Weingarten is the racing team of UAS Ravensburg-Weingarten, established in 2008. During the current season we can rely on more than 30 students and a considerable number of sponsors. Together it was possible to build our third racing car the „Stinger 11“, to take part in our 2nd Formula Student event at Hockenheim. To improve the results from last year, we set our focus on a better communication inside the team to avoid mistakes in an early stage. This was achieved by weekly workshops and a comprehensive knowledge database. Thereby we were able to keep our timetable tight and have more time for testing and instructing our drivers. Our technical aims were mainly to improve the cars kinematic capabilities as well as gaining an increase in torque and engine performance and losing weight. With great enthusiasm the Formula Student Team Weingarten is looking forward to the Event in Hockenheim to compete with other teams and have a fantastic time beside the track.

Info
The FORMULA STUDENT TEAM WEINGARTEN is looking forward to its second season and its first participation in the German event. After a satisfying year 2009, the team - grown up to 18 members - starts to work on a new car. From a technical point of view, we are aiming for three main targets to be more competitive this year: Reducing the car's weight by at least 30 kg, improving the suspension for a maximum of mechanical grip on the track and getting our engine more powerful. We put great efforts on improving the project and time management and we also want to increase the enthusiasm for this project at the University. We're looking forward to a great competition and the opportunity to meet students from all over the world.
