Team Description

Nov 22, 2003 was the day the dream was conceived. Our college campus has a dedicated
coffee shop outlet that markets with the punch line “a lot can happen over coffee”. And
that’s just what happened. A group of four seniors thought about having their own
Formula SAE racing team, the first in India
The fire raging, the first obstacles were how the team could generate the finance for such
a large budget tuning to an amount of nearly Rs. 22 lacs. Several door to door knocking
sponsorship drives proved to be unsuccessful. Then the team members realized that they
should contribute funds to the team to setup a working prototype which would generate
interest among people.
When work commenced, the team was divided into different sub modules giving it a
flavour of a corporate environment. The basic modules were categorized into
administration, sponsorship & marketing, finance, design management, engineering
management, logistics & procurement and Workshop management. Further the team was
divided into various technical areas (i.e) chassis team, brakes & wheel team, suspension
team, engine team and drive-train team.

Info
Ashwa Racing at RV College of Engineering, Bangalore, India is a team of about 30 members from various technical disciplines. Since the team's inception in 2003,we have participated twice in FSAE Australasia and also in FSG 2007. After pinpointing the areas for improvement in our designs, we have come up with the RZ08 for FSG 2008. The major keynote this season has been design optimisation for extensive data acquisition by making use of ANSYS for CFD and FEA analysis and incorporation the Motec M800 ECU.Moreover we have made significant improvement by incorporating racing-specific components in our designs thus improving our performance. The team is a fine blend of experience and fresh members and is very eager to perform at FSG 2008. Our technical advancement and incorporation of high-end components is mainly attributed to the encouragement, trust and support of all our sponsors.
